Ian Bannerman has held a variety of leadership roles in the global scholarly communication industry. Most recently, he was Managing Director at Taylor & Francis Group (the academic division of Informa PLC), where he led the expansion of the journals business through investment in new digital products and services, augmented by a series of strategic acquisitions. He began his career at Blackwell Publishing and held management roles in production, marketing, sales and online product development. He was one of the pioneers in developing online sales models and platforms for the higher education library market. Ian has served on several not-for-profit boards, including the STM Association and Crossref, where he was elected Treasurer and Chair. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and has written on a variety of subjects, from pricing models to plagiarism. Ian is currently an advisor to a range of digital businesses and a Non-Executive Director of Researcher, making research easy to discover, share, use and measure.
