Travel from abroad
London has five international airports, which serve more than 108 million passengers
per year, and some 660 destinations per year between them. Delegates from Brussels and
Paris can also reach London by Eurostar, in a journey time of less than 3 hours.
Airports
London
Heathrow (LHR)
LHR is the world's busiest international airport and the world's second busiest
cargo port. Over 90 airlines have made LHR their base, and 90 service 200 destinations,
with over 62 million passengers a year between them.
By underground/train: From the airport the Heathrow Express train takes 20 minutes to
get to London Paddington Station. Take the Bakerloo line directly to Piccadilly Circus.
Alternatively, the Piccadilly underground line goes directly from LHR, and takes 60
minutes to travel to the centre.
By bus: Shuttle buses regularly depart from LHR to Victoria Coach Station with a
journey time of 60 minutes. Then take the Victoria underground line to Green Park and
change for the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus.
London
Gatwick (LGW)
LGW is the second largest airport in the UK and the sixth busiest international
airport in the world. The airport has over 30 million passengers a year, with 102 airlines
servicing over 280 destinations.
By underground/train
The Gatwick Express train takes 30 minutes to get to Victoria Train Station. Then take the
Victoria underground line to Green Park and change for the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly
Circus.
By bus
The Airbus takes 25 minutes from Gatwick to Victoria Coach Station. Then take the
Victoria underground line to Green Park and change for the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly
Circus.
London City Airport
London City Airport is one of the leading airports in Europe dedicated to the
business traveller. Currently, 13 airlines service 30 European cities, including the five
key hubs:- Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Zurich. The airport currently
operates over 160 flights per day and has recently been permitted to increase the number
of flights to 250 per day.
By underground/train: The nearest station to the airport is Canning Town, where the
Jubilee underground line can be taken to Baker Street Station where you can change for the
Bakerloo underground line to Regent's Park Station.
By bus
Shuttle buses take 25 minutes to Liverpool Street Station, then catch the underground on
the Circle underground line to Baker Street Station and change to the Bakerloo underground
line for Piccadilly Circus.
Luton (LTN)
London Luton Airport is 30 minutes away from North London and easily accessible via
car, train or bus. The airport offers both scheduled and charter flights to a wide range
of destinations.
By bus
There is a direct bus to Victoria Coach Station. From Victoria Coach Station, catch the
Victoria underground line to Green Park and change for the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly
Circus.
By underground/train
The main train line from Luton is to Kings Cross St Pancreas Station. From there
take the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus.
Stansted (STD)
London Stansted Airport is easily accessed by the frequent Stansted Express rail
service between London's Liverpool Street Station and the airport's terminal. With a wide
range of scheduled destinations to Europe and beyond, London Stansted is the easy way out,
whether travelling on business or leisure.
By bus: There is a direct bus which takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to
Victoria Coach Station. From the coach station take the Then take the Victoria underground
line to Green Park and change for the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus.
By train: The Stansted Express goes regularly to Liverpool Street Station.
From Liverpool Street Station take the Central line to Holborn and the Piccadilly Line to
Piccadilly Circus.
Train
Eurostar
Eurostar now connects eight destinations, ranging from the major centres of London,
Paris and Brussels. For example, up to 24 trains from Paris and 10 from Brussels run each
day during the peak season. From Waterloo Station take the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly
Circus. |
