The HypoCCS series aims to bring the latest basic and clinical advances in pituitary-related endocrinology to a broad audience. The BioScientifica rapid-publication system ensures that the content is completely up to date.

This is the 8th in the HypoCCS symposia series on clinical and basic aspects of pituitary diseases. The endocrine system in man undergoes major changes during the aging process, these changes occur in parallel with the appearance of characteristic changes in aging organs. Aspects of the endocrinology of growth and development are addressed including subjects such as circadian rhythms and the effect of chemotherapy in childhood. The use of hormone interventions in adult life is covered with, amongst others, chapter on DHEA, middle age spread and thyroid hormone replacements.  Mechanisms in the aging process are addressed with chapters on hormone therapy in women and the interaction of growth hormones and the risk of cancer.

These proceedings will be welcomed by clinical and basic scientists with an interest in the pituitary, as well as those with a general interest in the endocrinology of aging and the aging process.
