BioScientifica can carry out a range of activities with regard to finance and accounting for your society, from a full accountancy service, to an ‘Assistant to Treasurer’ function.  Whichever level of services is selected, the secretariats team would, in conjunction with the Treasurer of the society, establish a set of procedures for making and receiving payments on your behalf.

This service can include:

  • Recording income and payments
  • Raising invoices, chasing payments and banking income
  • Management of bank accounts
  • Credit control
  • Checking of monthly statements
  • Making payments (authorised by the Treasurer)
  • Providing regular reports to the Treasurer
  • Liaising with the appointed auditor if appropriate, and preparation of the accounts
  • Submitting accounts to regulatory bodies
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Developing budgets and management accounts (in liaison with the Treasurer)
